Thursday, 22 November 2018 – The Minister of Trade and industry, Dr Rob Davies officially opened the new R985 million Komatsu campus in Germiston, Gauteng. This is one of the first realisation of the commitments announced at the recent Presidential Investment Conference last month.
The new Komatsu campus is one of the largest single owner industrial complexes in South Africa. The 300,000 m2 facility incorporates Komatsu head office operations, the Isando branch, parts distribution centre, equipment workshop and technical training centre… more

Friday, 30 November 2018 – President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially launch the Atlantis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at a ceremony to be hosted on Thursday, 6 December in Atlantis, Western Cape Province. Monday, 03 December 2018 – The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies has welcomed the ratification of the Agreement establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by Parliament. The AfCFTA was launched during an Extra-Ordinary Summit of African Union Heads of State and Government on 21 March 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda. South Africa signed the Agreement during the 31st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union on 1 July 2018 in Nouakchott, Mauritania. Thus far, 49 countries have signed the Agreement and Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, Eswatini, Chad, Niger, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Guinea Conakry have deposited their instruments of Ratification… more
